4 Glen Plaid 12 Fluid Ounce Double Old Fashioned By Ralph Lauren Crystal Perfect
The one price is for all 4 crystal double fashioned tumblers. Each crystal double old fashioned tumbler measures 4 1/8 inches tall, has a top opening diameter of 3 1/8 inches across, and sits on a round diameter base of 3 1/8 inches wide, as seen in the photographs. These crystal double old fashioned tumblers are both hand blown and hand cut by Ralph Lauren's most skillful glass blowers and glass cutters, and each has the famous "RLR" Ralph Lauren Signature on its base, as seen in the 13th photograph, with no scratches on its bottom at all.
This classic pattern is called "Glen Plaid" and is an original interpretation resembling the famous plaid patterns from Scotland, but this time cut into glass crystal. This absolutely beautiful hand cut pattern consists of 6 evenly spaced 5 elongated cut flutes extending from the base of the tumbler to about an inch from the top, with 2 rows of evenly spaced 3 horizontal hand cut flutes crossing over the vertical cuts creating 12 rectangular grids of 15 diamond plaid patterns for which Scotland is so well known. I believe that this "Glen Plaid" pattern was made from 1993, making it up to 33 years old.
I found the 4 crystal double old fashioned tumblers sitting in a closed living room cabinet, where apparently they sat for a long time and were probably never used because there are absolutely no stains or scratches anywhere either inside or outside of each tumbler. Each has a beautiful ring when lightly tapped, attesting to its highest quality of crystal, and each tumbler weighs about 14 ounces. I have been collecting unusual vintage objects for many years, and always try to describe the item as best as I can.
I don't see any scratches, or chips, cracks, fleabites, stains, cloudiness, or repairs anywhere. These 4 crystal old fashioned tumblers come from a smoke-free home. Reasonable offers are always welcomed.
